The state’s largest trade group backs Diaz’s bid for re-election because of his record of promoting strong economic growth.
Today, the Manny Diaz Campaign announced the endorsement of the Florida Realtors Political Advocacy Committee. With more than 155,000 members, Florida Realtors is the state’s largest trade association. Diaz is seeking a third term to represent District 103 in the Florida House of Representatives.
“We need a Legislature that focuses on making Florida a fair regulatory and low-tax state that helps create and maintain a vibrant state economy and strong real estate market,” said Bill Furst, chair of the Florida Realtors PAC Trustees, in announcing their endorsed candidates. “The goal of the Realtors PAC is to support candidates who promote policies that encourage homeownership and preserve the quality of life for our state.”
The mission of Florida Realtors is to advance the state’s real estate industry both by shaping public policy and encouraging consistent professional and ethical standards among its members. Candidates were evaluated on numerous factors, including their voting records on issues relevant to the real estate profession.
“Florida Realtors PAC has a longstanding reputation of supporting those legislators and candidates who advocate for private property rights, address real property issues, and promote policies that ensure strong economic growth,” said Carrie O’Rourke, vice president of public policy for Florida Realtors. “It’s those lawmakers who help to ensure Florida continues to grow and prosper now and for future generations.”
“I am very happy to have the support of Florida Realtors,” said Diaz. “A strong housing and real estate industry has a big impact on our whole economy. I look forward to continuing to work with them to protect private property rights and encourage economic growth in Florida.”
