Already an established education leader in the Florida House, Diaz will serve as Chair of the PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee during the upcoming term.

This week, Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran appointed State Representative Manny Diaz Chair of the PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee. Diaz has represented District 103 in the Florida House of Representatives since 2012. He was re-elected to a third term last month.

“I appreciate Speaker Corcoran giving me the opportunity to lead this important committee,” said Diaz. “It is absolutely crucial that Florida students and educators have the resources they need to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of our 21st Century economy, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make sure we deliver for our students.”

Diaz will also serve on the Education Committee, the Health Innovation Subcommittee, the Public Integrity and Ethics Committee, the Appropriations Committee, the Rules and Policy Committee, and the Joint Legislative Budget Commission.
