Hialeah, Fla. — Today, the Manny Diaz Campaign announced the endorsement of Mayor Yioset De La Cruz and the entire City Council of the City of Hialeah Gardens. Joining Yioset in his support for Diaz are Councilmen Luciano “Lucky” Garcia, Rolando Piña, Jorge Merida, Jorge Gutierrez, and Ello Urra. First elected in 2012, Diaz is seeking re-election to the District 103 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

“We need Manny Diaz’s leadership in Tallahassee,” said Yioset. “He is a trusted partner at the state level for our community. We look forward to continuing to work with him to improve our schools and to support policies that will increase economic growth and opportunity in our area.”

Yioset was one of the youngest mayors in Florida when he was first elected in 2000. All five of the Hialeah Gardens City Council members have been in office for well over ten years, with Garcia, elected in 1994, the longest serving member.

“Manny Diaz knows our community and is committed to making it even better,” said Gutierrez. “We can depend on him to listen to the constituents he serves and make wise choices in Tallahassee. We can’t afford to be without him as our representative in the Florida House.”

“I am very honored to have the support of these dedicated public servants,” said Diaz. “They are all wonderful leaders, and I look forward to continuing the strong working relationship we have as we work together to make Hialeah Gardens and our whole area an even better place.”
