Today, the Manny Diaz Campaign announced the endorsement of Senator Marco Rubio. Diaz has represented District 103 in the Florida House of Representatives since 2012 and is seeking the District 36 seat in the state senate. Rubio joins a host of area leaders who have also endorsed Diaz.

“Manny Diaz is a proven leader who has been tireless in fighting for world-class schools and tax relief for our seniors,” said Rubio. “He stood against the special interests and led the way on ethics reform. HIs leadership has and will continue to make Florida safer and more prosperous, and I’m proud to endorse him.”

Rubio served as a City Commissioner for West Miami before being elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2000, and then as House Speaker in November of 2006. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010 and re-elected in 2016. In the Senate, he has distinguished himself as a leader on a number of issues, including foreign policy. He serves on the Special Committee on Aging, the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

“I’m honored to have Senator Rubio’s support,” said Diaz. “I look forward to continuing to partner with him to promote commonsense policies that will make our state and region stronger.”
